ZIRCONIUM OXIDE
MEL Chemicals with manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom and USA is the world's leading producer of zirconium oxide and other zirconium chemicals. The various grades are designed to meet the demands of specific applications and to enhance the properties of our customers' products.

Modern production processes ensure our products are cost effective in all major areas of application. Most grades are available from drum to container quantities. Certification is to ISO 9001. Our unique manufacturing methods coupled with R&D support, allows joint development projects at laboratory, pilot plant and bulk manufacturing levels.
The use of zirconium oxides in technical ceramics is well established, notably for their electrical, wear and heat resistant properties. Our zirconium oxide and yttria stabilised zirconia materials are vital ingredients in a huge range of industrial and domestic products including capacitors, microwave telecommunications, piezoelectrics, wear part ceramics, molten metal filters, fibre optic ferrules, oxygen sensors and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells.

NANOTECHNOLOGY
MEL CHEMICALS has developed a range of nano-sized, high purity, aqueous dispersions of zirconia and yttria stabilised zirconia materials. These new nanomaterials are major drivers of technological change within ceramic, electronic and catalytic applications - capable of delivering huge benefits to manufacturers. Currently available in 10kg evaluation quantities, these materials have particle sizes ranging from 10 to 15nm. Specific customer requirements can be facilitated.
