MEL Chemicals announces the following statement with regards to a potential Swine Flu pandemic

In response to customer enquiries, and in the interests of employee safety, MEL Chemicals has developed a business continuity plan in the event of a global Swine Flu pandemic.

The following statement has been issued:

"MEL Chemicals has a Divisional approach and has developed a business continuity plan in the event of any disruption that may be caused by the global Swine Flu pandemic. Critical suppliers and service providers have been identified and we will be working with them to ensure that contingency arrangements are in place to maintain continuity of supply.

Critical business and manufacturing processes have been identified and plans have been made to ensure that the competencies required to maintain these processes are adequately covered in the event of significant absence levels occurring. Sensible and practical hygiene procedures following government guidelines have been developed and will be put in place to help to prevent the spread of the virus. Priority will be given to customer shipments and communication will be maintained with customers."
